WSL Pro Taghazout Bay is starting

The flags are flying. The police are present. The event tents are up. Photographers galore. The sun is shining.

The surfing pros have arrived in Taghazout Bay. The first WSL qualifying series ever to be hosted in Morocco has started.

Day 1, 2 and 3 have been changed from Anchor Point to Anza, due to wave conditions. The forecast is looking great from Wednesday onwards so that will make for exciting final rounds on 29, 30 and 31 January 2020.

Word on the sandy streets of Tamraght is that the King Mohammed VI is going to make an appearance.

We’ll be supporting some of the local Moroccan talent competing, including Ramzi Boukhiam and Redouane Regragui. Yalla. How amazing for them to show off their skills in front of an enthusiastic home and international crowd.

What a wonderful opportunity for Taghazout Bay to showcase its beautiful beaches, waves, and Berber hospitality on the world stage.

With one of the sponsors being Ain Atlas, a plastic bottled water company, we’re happy to see a large plastic recycling bin in a prominent place.

Just goes to show the power of sport to bring people from all over the world together. Raise awareness and provide simple solutions to global and local issues like plastic pollution. And maybe we will have a visit from the King.

Good luck to all competitors, and thank you to the WSL for choosing Taghazout Bay for your contest.
